I finally tried one of Organette’s amazing recipes and let’s just say that after eating these cookies, my Betty Crocker book is out the window! These are the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever made!

This was my dinner Saturday night. It ended up being way too hot to eat, but it was super-pretty and fun to say. :)

Make yourself a bee! Save the bees!

So there is this thing in Indy called a N.I.T.E. ride that I guess has been around for a while. I had no idea until a friend asked me to go and I’m so happy that he did! Police block off streets, even major ones, and you ride 20 miles around the city from 11pm-ish to 1am-ish and then eat Fazollis at 1am-ish. It was the most fun I’ve ever had on a bike. Except maybe the rain that happened towards the end… but even that was kinda fun in it’s own annoying kind of way. :)

Slice of Pink did a post of her hometown and asked others to make one as well. I like filling things out, so here is My Indianapolis.
Age: 27
Occupation: Graphic Designer
I’ve lived here for: 27 years
I live here because: It’s super-cheap and most of my family and friends live here.
My neighborhood: Southport
My favorite restaurant: Kabutos or Taste or Shallos.
If you go to this restaurant, be sure to order: Hibachi
My favorite museum: Indianapolis Museum of Art
My favorite tourist destination: I’m not sure anyone ever comes here to “tour” but I guess my favorite would be the canal.
Best insider spot: Mass Ave? That’s our “art district.” Not sure it would be considered “insider” though.
My favorite area: Downtown
Best place to go shopping: Keystone Fashion Mall
When you visit, don’t forget to pack: A camera… you shouldn’t visit anywhere w/o a camera. ;)
But leave room in your suitcase for: Some Colts apparel!
The one local cuisine you should try when you’re in town is: Goose the Market
The best way to get around: Some bike and walk paths are being built, but you’d still need a car for sure.
If I had to describe this city in one word, it would be: Behind. We are completely behind on the times, man. Smoking is still allowed in the bars, not many people recycle, we’re out of fashion, we have very little public transportation, etc…
I tell my friends to stay at: The Villa! Unless you have kiddies… then the Holiday Inn by the Pyramids b/c it has SLIDES!
The one thing most outsiders don’t know about this city is: The very first Cheeseburger in Paradise was here!
They say “Virginia is for lovers.” So fill in the blank: Indianapolis is for people who like cheap living.

It seems like just yesterday that my friend called to tell me that she was pregnant and now today is her son’s 1st birthday party. Time flies, dudes! Check out how “green” his gift is - I used the bag that one of his gifts came in to wrap it. All you need is a little ribbon to “seal” the top and “jazz” it up. :) I bought the rubber duck at the Bath & Body Works sale for like $2 with the intention of just putting him on the outside of the package. I think my latest “dream” is to open a gift wrapping store. I know it would totally flop and make no money, but what a fun dream, huh?

I’m most excited about the card that I got for my stepdad. He’s totally not a Mr. Fix It, but this year he has been involved w/ fixing my sink, toilet, and getting the bird out of my dryer vent. I found a card saying he was my favorite Mr. Fix It and was soooooo excited! I hope it makes up for my not-so-thoughtful gift card for more books - I hate giving gifts that aren’t thoughtful.

I specifically made my plans around making sure I saw Lord of the Yum Yum again this year b/c I loooooove him! I posted a video of him last year that you can view here if you’re interested (you know you are!). According to his website, he travels around… so see him if you can! :)

A nice boy invited me to the Death Cab for Cutie Concert - so of course I went! Did you know they’re older dudes? For some reason, I always thought they were younger and just starting out. Oops!

Strawberry shortcake from the Strawberry Festival! Mmmmmm Then after work, I went to a friends house and suggested that we walk to the yummy ice cream place down the road. It’s about a mile down the street, so I figured 2 miles of walking justified having more ice cream… and plus, according to Mr. Prophet Hawkins, today begins nuclear war and the end of the world… so I figured what the heck, I’ll be skinny in heaven. :)
Check out the cuuuuute doggy dish that my friend bought for her dog that made the walk with us!
I was searching flickr for photos of states I’ve never been to. Have you ever been to Utah? Who knew that the place is gorgeous?? Rock formations like Colorado, but different. And the salt flats… wow! Who wants to take a trip to Utah??
Since tomorrow is the end of the world, supposedly, I just want to say thanks for reading my blog! ;)

I went to Chicago for the weekend with a few girls to shop my little heart out, but came home more satisfied w/ the pictures that I took. Probably b/c I only bought like 2 things… it always happens that way, doesn’t it? When you want to spend money, you can’t find anything… and when you’re trying not to spend money, you find everything you’ve ever wanted. Geez!
This photo was taken from our hotel room window! :)

Have I ever mentioned that I’m not an animal person? No? Well, I’m not. I’m abnormally uncomfortable around animals. So last weekend a bird gets caught in that tube that goes from my dryer to the ceiling to I guess, outside. I had to call others to come and take care of the problem b/c I was so freaked out that I found myself standing on chairs staring at the door worrying it would get out… I even closed the door and put a towel underneath it… just in case the bird could get out of the tube and under the door… you never know, man. Anyway… so we… I mean… two people who aren’t me… got the bird out safely Saturday evening.
So tonight I was sitting in the living room eating dinner and this bird stopped by. I swear he was staring me down… and maybe I’m crazy… but I swear it’s HIM! He’s bulling me like, I’ll be back, BEE-AH… stay away from the laundry room!
